Raised by a family of public servants 🏛️

Ocean grew up in a family shaped by service. His grandmother worked in social work, his mother in a university library, and his father as an attorney. His grandfather, Jere, served as the base doctor at the Navy’s AUTEC facility, while his great-grandfather, John, was a military pilot who flew in the Berlin Airlift before becoming a teacher at Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, the same school Ocean and his mother would later attend. From an early age, Ocean saw how service, education, and community institutions can make a difference in people’s lives.
